The Mods & Rocker Film Festival has teamed up with www.Art1967.com to present an exciting new concept in Hollywood. An open-air art gallery open to all the public! It is situated in the historic courtyard of the landmark Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. (6712 Hollywood Boulevard -- 2 blocks east of Highland Avenue) [Click here for map]
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood by Sebastian Kruger You can view and buy great original artworks, limited-edition prints, iconic photographs, handwritten lyrics -- created by some of the world’s best-known musicians and artists. The gallery is open to the public free-of-charge. You don’t have to be attending a film screening to come and view the art. The gallery will open to coincide with film programs in the festival and will stay open till shortly after the final film of the night -- allowing for late-night art viewing by movie audiences.
Jim Hendrix and Janis Joplin Self-Portraits There will also be some special events: On Thursday July 19th -- coinciding with our reunion celebration of the Monterey Festival - Grace Slick will be present to personally sign any Limited Edition prints of her work that are purchased. On Saturday July 28th -- we will present the first-ever Los Angeles exhibit of artworks created by Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin!
