SPENCER DAVIS

Spencer Davis is the youthful elder statesman of British rock. In 1963 he formed the Spencer Davis Group for which he recruited the 15-year-old Steve Winwood as vocalist. The band had multiple chart hits in the UK and US with their blues-based rock songs – and frequently toured with peers such as the Rolling Stones and The Who. Davis, the band’s lead guitarist, co-wrote one of the band’s biggest hits “Gimme Some Lovin’” – a song which is in the Grammy Hall of Fame. He also co-arranged their other hits including “I’m A Man”, “Keep On Running” and “Somebody Help Me.” Spencer Davis has lived and worked in the USA since 1970 and currently resides on Catalina Island. He is constantly touring with the current incarnation of the Spencer Davis Group - which has an especially large following in Europe.

STEPHEN BISHOP

Stephen Bishop is one of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation – first coming to attention with his hits “Save It For A Rainy Day” and “On And On”. He is especially known for writing and/or singing many theme songs from successful movies. These include: “It Might Be You” (from “Tootsie”), “Separate Lives” (from “White Nights”) and the theme to “Animal House” – in which he appeared as the aspiring folk singer whose guitar is smashed by John Belushi! His songs have been recorded by artists ranging from Eric Clapton, David Crosby, Steve Perry and Phil Collins to Kenny Loggins, Johnny Mathis, Barbra Streisand, Art Garfunkel, The Four Tops and Pavarotti!

MONTEREY '67

Monterey '67 is a troupe of top-notch session musicians who present a faithful re-creation (in full costume) of musical performances at the legendary 1967 Monterey Festival by some of that event’s key artists. Their full-length show includes re-creations of the sets by: The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, The Mamas and the Papas and Big Brother & The Holding Company with Janis Joplin. They will be performing some of the highlights of their show at the Egyptian. The music, costumes, stagecraft and presentation are scrupulously duplicated to allow audiences to experience a stunning re-creation of the highlights of the 1967 Monterey Festival. "Astounding to see how well the musicians captured the spirit of the music and the time.” – Dennis Wade

THE RAVERS!

The Ravers! are four top session musicians who between them have worked with the cream of British artists including: Roger Daltrey, Spencer Davis, John Mayall, Denny Laine, Andy Summers, Jackie Lomax - and top American talents including: Gregg Allman, Robbie Krieger, Brian Setzer, Richard Marx, Delaney Bramlett, Michael McDonald and Micky Dolenz. Ravers member Howie Anderson has been lead guitarist for Strawberry Alarm Clock for the past 15 years. The four musicians have distilled their collective experiences to create a band that specializes in live performance of the finest music of the British Invasion – including songs by the Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks, Animals, Yardbirds, Hollies, Zombies and many more. See: www.TheRavers.org

"A great band! They are superb musicians who completely understand the ethos and spirit of the music we were making in the 1960s. Their musicianship is exemplary. The guitar player is one of the finest guitarists I’ve ever worked with” – Spencer Davis

THE RECORDS

The Records formed in London in the late 1970s - inspired by the music of Badfinger, Big Star and The Raspberries. For five years - and three albums on Virgin Records - they were leaders of the new wave power-pop movement. They enjoyed chart success in the US in the early 80s with their single “Starry Eyes” and their eponymous album. The band split in 1982. Co-founder/composer/guitarist/vocalist John Wicks now heads a new L.A.-based incarnation of the band - performing highlights of the acclaimed original repertoire together with new songs that continue the power-pop sensibility that The Records exemplify. See: www.TheRecords.org

"The Records’ music is brilliant, a taut mixture of strong melodies and amusing lyrics. Finely-honed pop craftsmanship. sharp, tuneful confections that offer maximum hooks-per-groove in a classic Anglo-pop style not unlike the Hollies, with similarly brilliant harmonies and ringing guitars. Song after song of pure pop with clever lyrics and winning melodies.” – Ira Robbins - Trouser Press
