- ALL MY LOVING

- (1968, 52 mins, BBC, Directed by Tony Palmer)

- Filmmaker Tony Palmer (a protege of Ken Russell) rose to a personal challenge in 1967 from John Lennon that he should document the cultural-revolution-in-progress by making a film about the Beatles and their counter-culture peers and pals who were transforming pop into rock. Palmer’s ground-breaking film captured the Beatles, Cream, Hendrix, Floyd, Who, Burdon, Donovan, Zappa and more in a stunning tour-de-force (all specially-shot) that outraged the UK establishment and was deemed far too controversial for the USA. “This is just great! Exactly what we meant” said McCartney of the film in 1968. “One of our Great Treasures” says Pete Townshend in 2007. TONY PALMER EXPLAINS THE GENESIS OF THE FILM: "It was John Lennon's idea - the film. He said to me: 'You've got to do something to get these guys exposure on television. They're hammering at the door, except that the guys on the inside are deaf, and probably dumb and blind as well. So I did. And "All My Loving" was the result. Even using the title was his suggestion. It caused a hell of a stir - but then I suspect he knew it would." - Tony Palmer (2007) CLOSING-NIGHT PARTY: After the films - come to our "Closing-Night Party & Jam!" next door in the Mods & Rockers Clubhouse! Strawberry Alarm Clock and Spencer Davis will play! Plus Surprise Guests! Open till 2am! Free Admission with movie ticket stub! (Limited space. First come - first to rock!) - CREAM FAREWELL CONCERT

- (1969, 50 mins, Image Entertainment, Directed by Tony Palmer)

- Palmer was hand-picked by supergroup Cream to document their 1968 farewell concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The concert was a mind-blowing grand finale - fittingly captured by Palmer's kinetic direction. With the Egyptian’s 60 foot widescreen - and the 60-surround speakers pumping out 30,000 watts - prepare for a Cream-fest!

- GINGER BAKER IN AFRICA

- (1971, 53 mins, Eagle Rock, Directed by Tony Palmer)

- Tony Palmer’s acclaimed documentary captures Ginger Baker’s journey through Africa, - as he connects rock percussion with its tribal drumming origins. Unlike some rock musicians who flit into Africa to skim a little World Music texture to reinvigorate their musical vernacular - Baker's expedition has the air of true exploration and reverence for the essential roots of percussion.
Discussion between first two films with director Tony Palmer - making a special visit from London for the screening! After the films - come to our "Closing-Night Party & Jam!" next door in the Mods & Rockers Clubhouse! Strawberry Alarm Clock & Spencer Davis will play! Open till 2am! Free Admission with movie ticket stub! (Limited space. First Come - First To Rock!)
