Handmade Films was the boutique movie company created by George Harrison to finance "Life Of
Brian". The company went on to revitalize the British film industry with movies such as "Time
Bandits", "Withnail & I", "Mona Lisa" and many others.
We will be celebrating all of this and more - and bringing you the US Premiere of the brand-new
documentary about HandMade Films - "An Accidental Studio"
The "Mods & Rockers Film Festival" was created in 1999 by British-born, US-based, film
producer/humorist Martin Lewis. Over the years it has presented multiple full-length film
festivals, retrospectives, premieres, special screenings, concerts and events celebrating
musical, comedic, dramatic and documentary films of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. For many
years these events took place in L.A. at Grauman's Egyptian Theatre and the Aero Theatre. With
satellite seasons at New York's Lincoln Center, Washington's AFI and the Paley Center in both NYC
Since its inception the festival has exhibited hundreds of classic films and "lost treasures". It
has also hosted numerous actors, directors, producers, musicians and composers as special guests
in discussions of their films with festival curator/producer Martin Lewis.

Mods & Rockers founder/producer Martin Lewis is also known for
instigating/curating/producing/hosting multiple other film festivals, screenings and
retrospectives for the American Cinematheque, the British Academy of Film & TV Arts, The US Motion
Picture Academy, Lincoln Center, the Paley Center and AFI - including high-profile celebrations of
the Beatles, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Monty Python, Peter Sellers, Peter Cook, Richard Pryor,
Glenn Ford, Ken Russell, Nicolas Roag, Dalton Trumbo, Amnesty International, UK's Channel Four
Films and Hammer Films.
