GRAUMAN'S EGYPTIAN THEATRE


THEATRE LOCATION AND PARKING

The Film Festival is presented by The American Cinematheque at its new permanent home - the recently renovated Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The theatre is located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood. It is two blocks east of Highland Avenue between McCadden Place and Las Palmas Avenue - on the south side of the street. The entire neighborhood has been extensively redeveloped, is well-policed and is a safe environment. There are plenty of local restaurants

There is plenty of offstreet parking and parking lots in easy walking distance.


THEATRE CAPACITY

All the films are being screened in the Lloyd Rigler Theatre at The Egyptian which has a capacity of 618 seats.

The live one-man stage-show Great Exploitations! is presented in the new Steven Spielberg Theatre at The Egyptian - which has a capacity of 78 seats.

Festival Films: $7 ($5 for Cinematheque members)

One-Man Show: $10 ($7 for Cinematheque members)
July 4 Tea Party: $20 ($15 for Cinematheque members)


SAME DAY TICKET PURCHASE

Tickets for all films in the festival may be purchased at the theatre box office on the day of screening.

The box office opens one hour before the first film presentation of the day. The box office accepts cash, Visa and Mastercard. No checks or American Express. There are no ticket handling charges.

The box office is located at the Egyptian Theatre.

EXCEPTION: Tickets for the special July 4th event: The Mods & Rockers English Tea Party & Movie! MUST be purchased in advance. Special phone and fax lines are open for this event. See below for more information.


ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE

American Cinematheque Members:

Cinematheque members may purchase tickets in advance by fax or mail. Use normal procedures detailed in the monthly program and at the American Cinematheque website.

General Public:

The American Cinematheque is a non-profit organization and is not presently able to offer telephone/mail/fax ticket sales service for the general public.

(You are urged to become a Cinematheque member and become eligible for advance ticket purchase privileges by fax and mail! It’s a wonderful organization for movie lovers - with fascinating film festivals throughout the year!)

The public may make advance ticket purchases in person at the Egyptian Theatre during box office hours. Box office times are listed below.


BOX OFFICE TIMES

The box office is open just on days when the Cinematheque is presenting film programs - and at certain times on those days. It opens one hour prior to the first program of the day - and closes 30 minutes after the last program begins.

JULY 4th TEA PARTY & MOVIE - IMPORTANT TICKET INFORMATION

Special price for this event only: General public: $20 (Members: $15*)

The ticket price includes the groovy movie “Go-Go Mania!” - and everything at the Tea Party - including food (Bangers & Mash, vegetarian Cornish pasty and more), drink, live music, fashion show, costume contest & unlimited fun!

This is an all-inclusive event. It is NOT possible to purchase tickets for just the movie or just the Tea Party.

* The number of tickets Members may purchase at the $15 Member's price depends on the level of membership held.

It is essential to purchase tickets IN ADVANCE for this event. (No tickets will be available at the door unless there are cancellations.) Purchases must be made by Wednesday June 30th at 5:00pm.

Special facilities have been set up for this - and are available to members AND non-members alike. Purchases may be done in three different ways:

BY PHONE (24 hour service): Call 323 461 2020 - then press 3 Be ready with Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date, number of tickets required. You will be phoned back with a confirmation number.

BY FAX: Fax 323 461 9737 Send your name, address, phone number, Visa or MasterCard number and expiration date, and number of tickets required. You will be phoned back with a confirmation number. (If writing by hand - please PRINT clearly!)

AT BOX OFFICE: From Friday June 4th. For Box Office Times - see above.

TICKET HANDLING CHARGES: There is a $1 per ticket handling charge for all phone and fax orders. No handling charge for tickets purchased at the box office.


PLEASE NOTE:

The purchase by non-members of advance tickets by means OTHER than in-person box office transaction (i.e. the above phone & fax method) - is an option offered non-members ONLY for this July 4th Tea Party event. Non-members wishing to buy ADVANCE tickets for all other films/events in the festival may do so ONLY at the box office.

Advance purchase facilities BY-PASSING an in-person box office visit (i.e. by fax and mail) are available for ALL other films/events to MEMBERS ONLY. (This facility is another good reason to join the legions of fellow movie-lovers who are happy members of the American Cinematheque!)
