Several of the actors are associated with more than one film in the festival. And sometimes an actor is involved with a movie in a capacity other than acting - such as writing, producing or music scoring. With this A-Z list - you can check out all the films relating to all the principal actors.

There are capsule descriptions to help identify certain performers - such as character actors or British talent - who might be more familiar to you by a description of their other work than by their name.

James Bolam
Part of the new wave of 60's actors. Northern working-class. Was one half of the "Likely Lads" a classic 60's-70's Brit-com created and written by Dick Clement and Ian LaFrenais. Unique comedic character actor who specialized in playing gruff, dense imbeciles. A lofty 6'7" he was a staple in "Carry On..." movies. After one of the UK's easy listening crooners had a late 50's hit with a schmaltzy ballad called "You Need Hands" - Bresslaw recorded a parody "You Need Feet" - which was later memorably featured in the Rutles movie "All You Need Is Cash" ("...and I need feet - to run away from you")

Popular comedic character - familiar in Ealing comedies and "Carry On..." films. In 1962 - just before he broke through producing the Beatles - George Martin recorded a series of novelty hit singles featuring Cribbins. One of the titles later inspired the name of a really bad pop group. (Clue: It wasn't "Hole In The Ground" or "Gossip Calypso." Maybe it was "Right Said Fred" ?!)

Beat Girl
Marianne Faithfull
The ultimate 1960's poor little rich girl. The prototype bread-head waif. She managed to get out from under Mick Jagger's thumb (among other things) to establish herself as a credible actress. Her stage Ophelia in 1969 was a stunner. But Mick's jagged edge left its marks on her. Her resurrection as rock music's Edith Piaf owes much to how she survived her late 60's and early 70's descent into Sympathy For The Devil.

If you wondered whether appearing in the Japanese film which Woody Allen turned into "What's Up Tiger Lily?" was a career benefit for any of the original cast - just check out "You Only Live Twice." Within months she was cast as a lead character in the next Bond movie - as Kissy Suzuki.
