THEATRE LOCATION AND PARKING

The Film Festival is presented by The American Cinematheque at its new permanent home - the recently renovated Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The theatre is located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood. It is two blocks east of Highland Avenue between McCadden Place and Las Palmas Avenue - on the south side of the street. The entire neighborhood has been extensively redeveloped, is well-policed and is a safe environment. There are plenty of local restaurants

There is plenty of offstreet parking - and there are several parking lots in easy walking distance. The Cinematheque website gives the rates and location of local parking lots.

THEATRE CAPACITY

All the films are being screened in the Lloyd Rigler Theatre at The Egyptian which has a capacity of 618 seats.

The box office accepts cash, Visa and Mastercard. Sorry - no checks or American Express. There are no ticket handling charges if tickets are purchased in person. The box office is located at the Egyptian Theatre. Box Office times below.

TICKETS MAY BE PURCHASED EITHER ON THE DAY OF THE FILM - OR IN ADVANCE.

Many customers buy tickets immediately before the screening of their choice - and there can be long lines for the 30 minutes prior to a screening. To avoid these - we recommend that you buy your tickets in advance. For more ticket-buying tips - click here.

SAME DAY TICKET PURCHASE

Tickets for all films in the festival may be purchased at the theatre box office on the day of screening.

The box office is open daily (except Mondays) 1:00pm till 4:00pm.

On days when there is a film screening in the festival - the box office remains open till 30 minutes after the start of the last program of the day.

ADVANCE TICKET PURCHASE

American Cinematheque Members:

Cinematheque members may purchase tickets in advance - either at the box office - or by fax or mail. Use the normal easy procedures - which are detailed in the monthly program - and at the American Cinematheque website.

And of course members pay the reduced members' price of just $6 per ticket. (The number of tickets members may purchase at the members' price is dictated by the level of membership. Additional tickets are at the General Public price of $8 each.)

General Public:

The American Cinematheque is a non-profit organization with limited resources and regrets that it is not presently able to offer telephone or online ticket sales service for the general public.

However - tickets may be purchased in advance in either one of two ways:

  1. In person at the Egyptian Theatre box office. There are no handling fees. Box office hours are detailed below.

  2. Tickets may also be purchased in advance by fax using a VisaCard or MasterCard. There is a $1 per ticket handling charge for faxed orders from the general public. The simple directions on how to do this are available by clicking here.

BUYING TICKETS BY FAX

It is very simple to order tickets in advance by fax - using a VisaCard or MasterCard. Just follow these simple guidelines.

1.Your order must be faxed five (5) full business days in advance of the date of the first film on your order.

2.Your tickets will not be mailed. You will pick them up at "will-call" when you come to the first show on your order.

3.You will receive a confirmation phone call. If you do not receive a confirmation call two days prior to the first film on your order - please phone (323) 461 2020 Ext. 120.

4.Your credit card will be charged at the rate of $8 per ticket. There is also a $1 per ticket handling charge for faxed orders - which will be added to your credit card charge.

5.Incomplete ticket orders cannot be processed.

All orders must include the following:

1.Your first & last name as it appears on your credit card.
2.The complete credit card number
3.The expiration date on your credit card.
4.Your signature
5.Phone numbers you can be reached for confirmation - day-time and night-time.
6.The name(s) of the movie(s) you wish to see
7.The date & time of each movie
8.The number of tickets required for each movie.

BOX OFFICE TIMES

The Box Office is usually open every day of the week - except Mondays.

The Box Office hours vary depending on whether there is a Cinematheque film presentation in the evening.

On days when there IS an evening presentation (usually Wednesdays through Sunday) the Box Office is open from 1:00pm until 30 minutes after the last program of the day has commenced.

On days when there is NO evening presentation (usually Tuesdays) the Box Office is open from 1:00pm until 4:00pm

A general rule is that the Box Office always opens at 1:00pm - and it always closes approximately 30 minutes after the last program of the day begins.

When the theatre is rented out for a private evening event - the Box Office closes at 4:00pm and is not open that evening.
