Ages: No age restrictions. Kids welcome!

What: English Tea Party to celebrate the FIFTH of July – known to the British as CO-Dependence Day!

A celebration of how the British and the Americans were co-dependent on each other in the creation of 1960’s music and films - and today are united in their love of the fun pop culture of the Mods & Rockers era.

No-Host Food & Drink: Fun British 60’s menu and British & American beers and hard cider – at bar prices.

Music: Live classic 60’s hits from all-star band THE SHAGADELICS

(band members at past shows have included: Spencer Davis, Denny Laine (Wings & Moody Blues), Andy Summers (The Police), Gordon Waller (Peter & Gordon), Bruce Gary (The Knack), Laurence Juber (Wings), session-legends Chris Spedding and Phil Chen etc etc)

JOHN ALTMAN (Rutles arranger and Van Morrison band leader)

Note: Jackie Lomax (one of the first artists signed by the Beatles to their Apple label) will perform a special Tribute To George Harrison.

For the first time in over 30 years he will give a live performance of the song that George Harrison specially wrote for him and produced – “Sour Milk Sea” – one of the first records released by Apple.

Spencer Davis and Gordon Waller will perform Spencer Davis Group and Peter & Gordon hits respectively. Barry McGuire will perform his monster hit "Eve Of Destruction." Jack Casady, Bruce Gary and Phil Chen will all sit in with the Shagadelics. And John Altman - who is also a celebrated film composer ("Hear My Song" and "Funny Bones") as well as a band leader and arranger (The Rutles, Van Morrison, Hot Chocolate) will contribute saxophones.

Other Fun: 60’s fashion show, Best 60’s costume contest etc etc



MODS & ROCKERS FILM FESTIVAL
GETS A CLUBHOUSE!!!

To celebrate its 5th year in existence – the Mods & Rockers Film Festival is excited to announce that there will now be a Mods & Rockers Clubhouse – where festival-goers can immerse themselves in the 1960’s vibe on a nightly basis! Admission will be FREE! And open to all ages. (No restrictions on kids.)

The Clubhouse will be in a special dedicated area of popular rock club – The Knitting Factory – situated on the 1st floor of The Galaxy Center at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard. (One block east of La Brea – on the corner of Hollywood & Sycamore). The Knitting Factory is located just two short blocks from the festival theatre – Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre.

The Clubhouse will be open 6pm-2am every night of the festival (except Friday July 4th)

There will be DJs spinning sixties sounds, fashion contests, visits from 60’s stars appearing at the film festival.

There will also be a special Mods & Rockers Clubhouse Menu offering British Mod food such as “Bangers & Mash!” “Fish ‘n’ Chips” “Cucumber Sandwiches” and “Tea & Scones” Together with an array of British & American beers – and British hard cider.
